Default SuperChip For C5?

Hello all, I was talking to a guy at work and he was saying you could order a chip and that alone would increase your HP by forty points, has anyone heard of that and if so where do you order it and how much.

It's not a chip, it is a program. You can buy a programmer, but you usually do other performance mods first.

You cannot chip a C5. It has to be done through a re-program of the ECM.

Tell him you want the "chip" - but cannot purchase one on your own.

Offer him $50 if he'll order one for you - payable only after delivery and installation with proof of improvements.

You can't "chip" your C5

Best bet is to find a local tuner and get your car tuned for it's best performance.

You will get marginal gains as a stock car (without at least some mods). If you are going for a tune I would suggest at least a cold air intake.

Good luck

Chip? It's usually done with the burger and drink modification (driver only).

Seriously, the other posts are right on the tuning. I don't think a tune is worth it until you've done some other modifications first. Check out "The World of Wheels" when it comes through Edmonton in early 2008. There is usually a few vendors that can help you out like Davenport Motorsports from Calgary.
