Just received and installed the new Halltech Venom intake, was running the zip tie mod with K&N for a long time. Couldn't really say about any noticeable power gains but does seem to be more responsive, and it looks much better too. The new filter is Huge!!!
Also note that the Maf is relocated to the rear next to throttle body.
I just replaced my stinger system with the venom. At first I didnt feel anything. Talked to Jim and he stated that the maf sensor will take around 50 miles to relearn. I also arranged the maf internal blade to be horizontal. In line with the throttle plate, as suggested by jim. After my first 30 or so miles I found that the responsiveness was better, but what really happened was that the engine really woke up in the higher speeds. From 3500-4500, 80-120mph I could tell this intake was doing some heavy breathing. It pulls harder than the stinger intake. I also have the radiator pan cut out for cool air right into the filter. Rerouting the maf so that the blade was horizontal made the connection face down. I tie rapped the electrical to the upper radiator hose to keep it from getting entangled with the belt.
So you re-clocked the maf like 90degrees?? Do you have a pic, I'd like to see what your talking about. Haven't driven mine 50 miles since install but that will change tomorrow.
