so after washing my car on Saturday my wiper's have been going crazy. They sometimes will peak up, hide back away, peak back up, and hide away again, but quickly and very repetitive. If i place it on intermittent mode they don't work at all and stay up, then mid and high will work. Sometimes none of the settings work at all though. Then there are times it works perfectly (but only for a short period).
I'm really at a loss for what happened. I didn't hose down the engine bay or anything. Just washed it like normal. I did pop open the hood to bring up the wiper blades in order to clean the windshield, but i don't see how that would affect it. I also had lots of leaves and acorns pilled up around the divers side blade and cleaned most of those out as well, but still...that shouldn't have messed it up, right???
Sounds like your wiper module has gone south. Pretty common problem. It may have gotten wet for some reason. Mine did it, but after it dried out, I've not had any more problems. I also had the "won't shut off" problem with mine, in addition to the same problems that you're having. It's a PITA to get to. It's clear up underneath the cowling, in behind the engine.
My 2000 Blazer started with the wipers not shutting of when you turned them off. A local guy by me took the module out and resoldered the solders cause he said after time they crack. $65.00 later and 4 months its doing fine! Maybe something like this could work on the vette?
