Default Mohawk Scissor Lifts???

Have this in the detail section but not much help....

Anyone have either Mohawk Scissor lift? Interested in what you think of it and what you paid for it. Looking to use it more for detailing then under body work.........

I have a Bend-Pak scissors lift and I love it. I don't have ceiling height for a twin post so this is the next best thing. It is great for tire and brake work as well as detailing. I can sit on my creeper stool and wipe the tar off of the sides.

I have a Gegesmith unit , the only problem with it is that the lift arms are to short to lift it where you would use lifting pucks. Had to make my own longer lift arms. Works great for detailing, oil changes etc.

I have this one. It comes with 3 sizes of arm extensions and it can be moved from one bay to another if necessary.

Mohawk makes a very good scissor lift. Good mechanical safety plus the unique advantage of hydraulic velocity fuses.

None of the imports offer VFuses - and neither does Bend-Pak for that matter.

I think you'll find that Mohawk scissor lifts command a premium price > $2,000 landed.

Nobody near me sold Mohawk (or Norco) when I was looking, so I selected a Bend-Pak MD-6XP - love it.

All three are vastly superior to the cheap knock-offs.

I agree with the quality of Mohawk lifts, and the price. They are the HRE of the lift co's.

The lift LOSANGELESPI has is the bendpak spx7.It is the bigger brother of the 6xp.IMO, this is the best lift out there for the home garage,if you have a 9ft. ceiling or better( 10 is optimum)

It will also cost about twice as much as the 6xp,which does make the 6xp a very good bargain...

But the spx7 IS the bomb!No posts taking up space,no making full ramps to get it over the lift, you just park on it when not in use, complete access to the entire undercarriage of your car.

The only limitation I have found is this, don't try to put rocker rails on using it

These are really great - there are a few guys on the CF with them.

The bottom is wide-open vs 'some' limitation with the mid-rise scissor lifts.

One thing that didn't work for me was that the SP-X7 needs to be bolted to the floor. My garage layout didn't favor that, but if it did, I might have gone that way.

It looks like Bend-Pak is now offering a similar 'full-scissor' with a 4500lb capacity (vs 7K lbs for the SP-X7). Might be a good way to save some $$.

Youll be hitting your head and scraping your back on those ramps that swing up with the lift.

Dont let the warnings about concrete thickness scare you off, most Garage floors are 3 1/2 thick and will be fine.

That lift is so damn heavy you almost dont even need to bolt them in. They come in one solid, 2600 poound unit.

Good luck on your lift !
