[Z06] My Maggied Z16
It dynoed at 503rwhp and 489rwtq, that's with a Blackwing and LG long tube headers. I was really impressed with the way the car looked too. They had to repaint the whole front of my car, because of all the rock chips and other things. But the body shop 21st uses really paid attention to the little details. The alignment on the hood is perfect, all the way around. I think it's better than stock.
No it's not a carbon fiber hood, it's fiberglass. I am keeping the original hood, just incase. Words can't describe how just how much more fun this car is to drive.
Anyone on the fence about adding a maggie should do it. I wanted more power but didn't want to pay for a new C6 Z06. This is definitely the best money I've ever spent, and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Awesome looking car btw !!!
I spoke with John from 21st Century Musclecars, and he told me that the centi's don't start making decent power until 3500rpm. He said that a maggie would have 450 pound feet of torque at the wheels at 2500rpm, a much better blower for the street.
After that conversation I started comparing dyno sheets, then it was a no brainer. I also had a G5X3 cam in my 03 coupe and hated it. I'm sure it's a great cam, but it makes power way to high in the RPM range for me.
That was another reason I wanted a maggie, me hating the G5X3. I wanted power I could use on the street.
Thanks, no upgrades so far. I'm hoping as long as I don't beat on it, the driveline will last.
I'm running 7.5lbs of boost, right at the safe limit. So John said to ALWAYS use good gas, and if I hear the slightest ping to bring it in. He said he's installed about 150 maggies, and only 5 have returned with blown engines. He said it's always #7 that lets go. So here's to hoping I'm not number 6.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I have really yet to take it out and beat on it. I did get on it one time from a light, the traction control kicked in, and I hit the rev limiter.
Which by the way is way easier to do now.Standing on it in 3rd, 4th, or 5th is really crazy. You just hear the whine of the blower and your off like a rocket. It seems all the friction is gone from the engine now, that sounds weird but it's true. It revs like a rotary engine.
The power comes on a little above 2k, you hear the whine of the blower and its just crazy. There is really no need to downshift, it just makes so much power in every gear.
It's really tough to describe, you guys need to expierence it for yourselves. I can try to explain, but words just can't describe how f*$%ing amazing a Z06 is with a maggie.
I had to wait a total of 2 months, to get it installed. But a month of that was waiting on a hood from Caravaggio. I didn't want the hood that I have now. I wanted a Caravaggio, so John ordered it.
After 3 weeks, Caravaggio quit communicating with John. Before they quit responding to emails and voice mails, they said it shiped and was sitting in customs.
So after a month, John called me and was like "I don't know when it's coming in, if it ever does". He said he could get the hood that comes with his package in 3 days. I really didn't want that hood. But he sent me pictures of a Z16, they did earlier, and I loved the look of the hood with the stripes.
So that is what I went with, except the pictures John had of the earlier car had the stripes coming down the sides of the bulge. The cut my front stripes, and left them all on the bulge, which I think looks much better.
