I needed a few odds and ends so to round out an order I bought a, you guessed it "Performance" hood seal!
Do I understand correctly that it's better to mount it an 1/8" or so away from the very front flange/lip (?) of the hood.
I really appreciate your help because you all know just how crucial a mod this is...

More power is better.
Why do the manufacturer's call it a "performance seal" anyway? OH!! I know, it's called "creative marketing".

Should look like this after the install. Don't spend the $30+ on the "tax". Go to Autozone and get the "bulb" type stripping, it comes in a bag and has enough for 2 seals.
All jokes aside, it keeps the engine bay cleaner, and is a must have for the aftermarket intakes and the zip tie mod.

I didn't buy into all the hype at first, but just like that e-mail that you get that promises you $10,000 if you forward it to 1,000 friends; you don't believe it but you send it on just the same just to be safe.
Buying the performance hood seal is kind of like needing to take a leak. You can put it off for awhile, but sooner or later you gotta give in!
And not all hood seals are created equal. Some are fat, some are skinny.
Here's a shot of mine...

Best bang for your buck out there.
But seriously, it does keep water and dirt out of the engine compartment better than not having it on there.

I noticed dirt in my engine bay also so hope this means no more cleaning.
