Default Intake / mass air sensor

I recently put a cold air intake on my '00 C5. I was told by a well versed vette owner that the car would run a little rich but lean itself out. Would a high perf. mass air sensor do this instantly? I have put about 500 miles on the new intake.

Good question. I am about to do the same with a Breathless Performance Vortex on my 2000 Vert

Can you PM me as a reminder if you get any responses??

Thanks

One of my first mods back in 01. Do an idle relearn and after 50 miles or so you should be fine. If you didn't do an idle relearn, it had done so itself in the 500 miles . I also had a after market MAF but it is not needed, a waste of $300.'s. The stock MAF can handle after market bolt ons, untill you go to heads. Do a search of idle relearn and give that a try after changing your intake.

At 500 miles its done all its gona do for you. A MAS will do you nothing more. You've made it breathe a little better-thats all.

My Vararam made me run lean, more air, not enough fuel. So I'm going to have to get it tuned. If you get one of the less-powerful intakes you should be fine.
