I have my cover velcro'd on and the plate is underneath. If I'd get stopped I plan to say I was at a car show and just neglected to take the cover off...........take it off (as it's velcroed on) and Presto!
thats one idea, but I was hopeing for something that left it visible at all times but maybe made it looked more molded to the car like a shroud or some kind of surrounding. Pre-painted would be a big plus too... Im hoping to make this as easy/cheap as possible
I got a license plate surround. I think it is called a "Smoothie".
It basically fills in the gap around the plate. It's color matched to your car. It really doesn't look that bad. I think I got mine thru Ecklers, but I think you can also get it thru Mid America also.

180 bucks!
Corvette tax anyone?
I'd rather bank on not getting more than 3 more tickets (60 each)
I dont mind spending money on quality, but I refuse to drop that much on a little piece of molded plastic... thats a lot of beer that could have been purchased

There is a more economical molded clear cover that follows the contour of the nose. it's between 20 and 30 bucks. Ecklers and Zip sell them but I know I found one cheaper after I bought mine. The bad news is they are illegal in my state now! There is also a frame that retracts below the side of the front bumper so you can have your plate and hide it too.
