Dunno for sure, but very plausible.
I noticed this several years ago:
C1 to C3 = Checkered flag on the right
C4 to C6 = Checkered flag on the left.
I guess the explaination of the template being reversed is feasible, I dont know. But like I said, nothing is/was ever done to the Corvette without a reason, thats why I have wondered. Just like changing the overall look of the emblems per model. If someone can find it out, it would be a good trivia stumper at the next street meet.
