Lights Dimming out
Hey guys well I am not sure where to start. When I turn the headlights on and i press on the break the lights dim out. If i put on the turn signal the lights dim out it looks like a freaking x-mas tree. What should I do. The previous owner of the vette said it was the alternator but i want to try something simple first.
Has anyone had this issue yet ?
I do see when i do press on breaks the Batt volt go to about 12.9 then come back up to 13-13.7...

Mine does the same thing. I've read varios things on this board ranging from you can't fix it, to checking, and replacing the grounds to fix the problem. Imagine that, a fiberglass car having grounding issues, lol.

It sounds like the voltage regulator inside the alternator is flakey to me. Try placing a voltage meter directly on the alt with the lights and blinkers on. See if the voltage at the alt is varying. I'm pretty sure the voltage at the alt should be consistant if the alt is working properly.

thanks ill check the alt with a volt meter. I hope i can fix it becuase that could cause issue when making high whp later on....
now with new batt I doubt it cuz the guys said he just put a new batt in there before i bouth it.
