One of your Virginia neighbors would love some deer jerky.
I don't know what has them in traffic so much this year but I have seen more deer carcasses along the side of road this fall than I have for years. Along 29 between Charlottesville and Lynchburg I counted 7 last Sunday.

Sorry, haven't been on the net, scheduling appointment for insurance adjuster, butchering a deer, preparing brine to soak two turkeys................ I'm deep frying them today. And I might of had a glass or two too many of Bourbon last night, I was admittedly tired. I have a recipe for spicy jerky I'm going to try, I've never made it. My students bring it in, it is awesome. Maybe we need a deer jerky Corvette cruise-in once a year, to celebrate the deer that dodged our cars yet made it to the freezer. I've never seen so many deer since I moved here to west/central VA
Billvet, those are some BEAUTIFUL bucks! My house sits in the middle of open fields within view of George Washington National forest, yes it is filthy with deer. The irony is, the deer I hit was in TOWN 35 miles away, yet I literally have a herd in my front fields, and I dodge them daily going out the driveway. I believe the hunting has stirred then up because they are all over the roads! Have a great holiday, sorry no pics, my son has my camera. Hopefully he brings it back when he comes over for dinner today.
