Default Tire and Wheel Size Question

My wheels are currently the Corvette Garage Z07's. The width of the rear wheels are 11", and I am currently running P295/35/R18 in the back, which are 11.61" wide. If I switch to the P275/40/R18 in the back (which are 10.82" wide) will I run into any problems?

That sounds to me like too much wheel for a 275 width tire.

I suppose it depends on how you define problems. It clearly is not an ideal fitment, and you will not get the full potential of performance or full margin of safety from this setup. And it will probably look funny. On the other hand, it's not like it will fall off the rim as you're cruising down the highway.

Ona 11" wheel I would not go under 295. 305 would actually be a better fit. Just my .02
