I got some time off to replace my Oil pressure sending unit. The old sending unit was showing 111psi. I got the new one in... and guess what? Now I show 99 psi.. Whats up with that? I did my best to clean off the connector, it did have some oil on it. Used alcohol to the connector the best I could.
I don't know, but there seems to be a wide range of quality problems with the replacement sending units. There's a thread about this over in the C5 Tech section. Have read about guys being extremely careful installing them only to have them fail in a very short time.

Seems like it is a hit or miss situation when using the replacement sending units.
I have the same problem. Replaced mine, followed the post on here to a T, and less than a week later then new one blew up. Guess I'll try it again one of these days.
