meats is spelled m-e-a-t-s
straitened is spelled s-t-r-a-i-t-e-n-e-d
Band is spelled B-a-n-d
bather is spelled b-a-t-h-e-r

Dictionary

That's all "Spell Checks" checks. It doesn't check proper usage of a word, just the spelling.
