I need to replace a front speaker and thoguht it was simple. Now it seems I have to remove the door panel. At one time someone sent me directions for this but I cannot find them
Once you get the first retainer popped, it's easy to do the others. My advice to you it to use some blue masking tape along and under the edge of the door panel to protect your finish, it's very easily marred.
You pop off the door handle bezel, pry out the window control pod from the end closest the dash, and remove the 2 screws from behind the pull handle and you're all set to pry it off. Don't forget to lift upward along the window channel. When you go after the speaker screws, go for the ones holding them to the mounting plates not the mounting plate screws themselves.
Out of curiosity, what speakers are you replacing and what are you putting in?

I got some Bose from a guy here at a great price.... probably not the best choice but the most expedient.

Good advice,I have to repaint my speaker screens and this will help,Thanks.
I just ordered some new speakers for the doors. I did a little asking around and need to add one more bit of info to my previous post...
On the passenger door, the window switch release is located at the dash end of the pod. On the driver side, the release on the opposite end (the one furthest from the dash). You just slide a small screwdriver under the end at a VERY slight angle until you feel the pod release, then raise the released end out of the hole and slide the pod out out.
