Has anyone purchased 1 of these for their Roadster?

Just add heated seats. They will be a lot cheaper, and I use mine all year. They can be great on summer eves too.

Thanks, but I'm not looking for heated seats!

I had one - after a couple of years sold it.

Issue - installing and removing is a PIA, as it storage.

More importantly - if you live in a warm state - you might find you very seldom use it

Not for my Vette, but had a removable HT for my MB 450SL. It was definitely a PIA. Needed at least 2 people to remove or install, you worry about scratching the paint on the car and top, storage can be a problem, and extended use can cause the folded up soft top to have issues. They look great when they are on, but after having one for a different car, I thought about it for this one for about 3 seconds.

...it starting to looks like the Big Dog's going to make the trip back to TN with me!

Default Hard top

I think the real point of them is that you can't run a vert at the drags
if your running under 14 sec. unless you have a roll bar.
You can run your vert with the hard top.

I agree, $1000-$2000 for a roll bar installed or $3000-$4000 for a hardtop you can sell (and probably recoup 1/2 to 2/3 your the cost for the top) when your done racing, keeping the car more "stock" without a roll bar for resale...

Of course the roll bar is probably safer. Its all risk management.

I am looking at the HT option over the Roll bar myself.

Unless you're doing track events this is an unnecessary PIA. Ice on a vert top is no problem. The '01-'04 Vert top acts just like a hard top in sound deadening and leak protection. The hard top is just a piece of bling that will take up room in your garage. However if you must have one, try Caravaggiocorvettes.com for an improvement over Smoothline IMHO.
