Default tires sensors question

i have a 2000 and i bought some c6 z06 wheels... the guy who put the wheels on said my sensors wouldnt fit on the new wheels - something about the lip. so now i'm throwing that code. is he wrong? do i need c6 sensors to go with the c6 wheels?

No, The new sensor out of a C6 will not work with your car. The sensor will fit just fine. I have C6 Z06 wheels on my car with no problems. The tire sensor went in with no trouble at all. Sounds like you need to find a new tire store. Good luck

Yes, tire sensors are the same from 97-2000 in 2001 they changed the sensors and 2001-2004 will not work.

Speaking of sensors and codes. I have a 99 C5 I want to add new rims, and new tires while I am at it to get chrome rims in lieu of the alloys. I guess I have a couple questions:
Can the sensors be re-used from the original rims, or do I need new ones?
I have seen some tire/rim packages out there. Do they come with sensors?

If you sensors are the original from your 99 I would replace them, they're at the end of their life. Also it's nice to not have to worry about them going bad one at a time and having to take each wheel to get them replaced and risk damage to your new wheels. I replaced mine last Nov. when I got new wheels and tires. Peace of mind....
