my drivers side light would not go up all the time. maybe after three tries, it then would go up. i turned the little **** on the headlamp and now both lights go up when you turn the switch just one click, to the fog light spot, but the lights dont turn on until you turn it all the way.
also when you turn the lights off the drivers side light makes a clicking sound for about 10 sec. after they are closed.
do you know if there is any places to get it fix in Tampa FL..??
BTW, you have an older C5. If you take it to the dealership, it will be expensive. Probably $150+ for the part and a million dollars for the labor. You can buy the kit pretty cheap for about $35-$45 and it's a 1 hour job with simple tools.
Here you go, the procedure with a whole bunch of pictures. By the way, the glue I used in this procedure didn't hold. I'm experimenting with something new.
Some guys with little hands and arms do this without removing the entire assembly. Some guys with Popeye arms remove just the top (or back) part of the headlight assembly but they seem to end up with their headlights out of alignment when they do that. That's why I remove the entire assemble. You won't have alignment headaches when you're done.

It's likely the gear but if you want a free test try this;
pop up the headlights
unplug the electrical connector
remove the headlight surround
remove the 10mm nut and arm off the motor
turn the **** until the motor output shaft rotates 180 degrees
put it back together
This will rotate the gear so the bad part does not get used and they should work again.
