Is it normal for for a ZO6 to backfire when backing off the throttle? My 02 has 1800 miles and I can here some backfiring. It decreases when it is warm but I still here it sometimes. Just wondered if this is normal.
Thanks
Backfire? Its not a backfire rather "Trailing Throttle"! This is due to the open design of the 2002 Z06 mufflers and fairly open exhaust system. My '99 LS1 coupe with Corsa Indy's (no X-Pipe)played music to my ears with trailing throttle. I agree- Enjoy it and its a sign of a strong LS6 motor when you hear it! If it really bothers you, go with an X-pipe and it will be greatly eliminated. For my money- wouldn't touch it.
