This advice just saved you so much grief and made joining the Corvette Forum worthwhile
You're lucky because most guys have had at least one of the botched GM fixes.
Seeing as you have a clean system, fit a CLB and you'll never have a problem. The best $50 fix ever devised.

When I was at the dealership, I asked if they could just disable the system altogether...answer..."Nope, can't do that....then anybody could jump in your car and take off", I said I'd take my chances but they still refused.
Plus, now there is a rattle in my steering column.....sounds like the exact place where the plate is right behind the airbag. I'm wondering if they left it loose so it wouldn't jam up.
