Default Horn stuck...what's wrong?

My horn has been working intermittently.....doesn't really bother me, but today I tried to get it to work cause some blue hair had cut me off. I'm stopped at the light after trying to get it to blow and all of the sudden the horn sounds and won't shut off. I had to pull the fuse. Any idea what could be wrong? Is this a common problem?

^ I'd say the horn is broken.

Seriously though... the horn switch is most likely stuck which requires a new airbag module in most cars. I had to pay to replace on as an insurance adjuster.

Do you know if this will affect the function of the airbag? If not I'll probably leave it as is. I had the same problem in my Z28 and it would have cost me around $600 had Chevy not graciously covered it.

I don't think so... but you won't have a horn and the car won't pass a state inspection w/o a functioning horn.

EDIT: you live in Florida... drive your no-horn-having-self around all you want.

I has something similar to this happen to me. At like, 2am or so the horn went off and would not stop until I hit the steering wheel. It when off again almost exactly a hour later so I ended up pulling the fuse. After about a month of driving w/no horn I put the fuse back in. No problems since I put it back in about a year ago.

Same for me. 2am horn sounding. Pulled fuse. Put fuse back in several months later -- no problem since... Weird! Seems to be a common occurance.

I wouldve found your "extra" use of the horn pretty funny as long as I wasn't on the receiving end (poor old lady)

I'm sure its not what you intended however!!

Also it is time to upgrade!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the contacts are accessible to be cleaned. the dealership threw the cleaning in for nothing when they did some other work.
