headlight/back up light problem

headlight/back up light problem
Hey guys I'm having a problem with my headlights not comming up. When I start the car with the hand brake up then turn on the lights or try to let them come on automatically they wont. The lights turn on but they wont open up. Now when I shut the car off, release the hand brake, then start the car, the lights turn on and open up every time. Or if I remember to release the hand brake prior to starting the car, the lights will come up. On top of that, my back up lights aren't working eventhough I've changed the bulbs & changed the relay. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the headlamps, I'm thinking the headlamp control module has problems. It could be the headlamp switch too but I'm thinking the module. I've never traced out the wiring for the backup lights but can't imagine its too hard. A switch in the transmission tells the lights to come on, probably via a relay, therefore you should first check the fuse for them. Sorry that I can't give you more on them.
