"The Wave" is the custom of acknowledging the passing of another Corvette, regardless of year, when passing each other while motoring about. There are many forms of hand gestures and head nods, but basically any form of gesture to a fellow Corvette driver is acceptable.

Thanks for waving. I do it and have my wife do it. A lot of owners have no clue what is going on. If they don't wave back, I figure that their car still appreciated my wave.
The first response was interesting. "All generations" ?????????
I usually wave and most times I get a response except if it is a female, bug up their *** or something, hemroids possibly. I should have started by saying I wave to C-5s. Every time I have waved to C-1,C-2, C-3, and C4 They look at me like I am crazy or they just ignore me. C-6s never wave back, like the females, maybe its hemroids. When I had a C-4 they always waved and responded, that generation almost wreaks their cars to acknowledge another C-4. They are hard core.
I've always kinda clumped the C1-C3 together and the C4-C6 together. I don't get many waves (back) from the old cars. C5/C6 seem to stick together the most in my "lift the finger off the wheel" experience.
I always wave, even at the C3 and C4 guys, but the only ones that wave back are C5's. I guess the C3 and 4's are jealous the the C6's look down their noses.

Too funny, if you read a post on "Save The Wave" over on the C3 side everyone says it's the C5/C6 crowd that is stuck up.
I guess we are all waving - just not looking for the wave back
