Default Audio Wiring Question

Some general questions for those of you who have custome stereo set ups.
First the head unit has been replace on my bose system and it sounds pretty poor. I'm guessing the exisiting wires were used and I seem to recall people saying the Bose system had some inline amps.

If I were to run new speaker wires would the system sound better?

If I add new speakers and an amp, is it possible to use the existing speaker wires in any way or best just to run new wires again?

Whats the best way to run the wires to all four speaker locations and to the rear if I should add a sub?

If any of you have any gothca's or products to avoid, please let me know.

Thanks!

The Bose HU was designed to run with inline amps and the speakers are actually twiddlers. That means they are more or less full range speakers. An adapter should have been used if the stock speakers were used with a new HU and yes, new wires should always be used.

If you ran new wires from the HU to new aftermarket speakers then the sound should improve. If you add amps and want them in the rear, then the wire can run along the inside of the door sill on either side and then up and over the back wall. The rear speaker wires can just run under the carpet (over the wheel tub).

Do a search in the audio section (Forum, General Corvette, Audio/Electronics) and you will be amazed at what you will find.

Good luck on your project,
