Default My first dyno

99 FRC 65,000 miles
First run 310.5 HP 317.4 Trq
second run 310.4HP 315.1Trq
Maybe some mods are in order.
I have the K&N replacement AF and Ti exhuast, otherwise stock.

Those are normal numbers and that means your LS1 is still very healthy

Know your goal though, I made the following mistake:

I ran 318RWHP with Halltech Stinger and Borla Stingers plus a tune then added American Racing headers and am now up to 346RWHP and 359RWTQ.

Problem is now when I am running through the gears I just sit and spin going into second (traction control is like holy **** where'd that power come from?), time for tire upgrade which means probably a rear end upgrade to protect the stock parts from breaking.

To give you an idea of what I am talking about, watch this vid, in the beginning you'll see me going into second and the camera shows me losing traction a bit. That was BEFORE my tune after I installed headers, the tune gained me 20 HP's and 20 pounds of torque. That's enough to keep the car from gripping on Goodyear Eagle F1's going into second on streets. Since that tune and the HP/TQ gain that traction problem is now way amplified (I seriously can't play any longer, the car just won't hook up since the power increase.)

I'm confused.

I watched your video and didn't see any traction issues.

I have 381 rwhp and 372 tq and it is not enough.

Going for more next weekend.

Look like good normal numbers to me. Mine were 309/322 BONE stock (OEM air filter and exhaust)

You can add 25-30 Hp with just bolt ons.

Nice numbers for a basically stock car.

I paid 65-80, depending on how many others were run that day...More then I realy cared to spend, but it has given me a base from which to start.

I have not found any other dynos in the Savannah Ga area.

I would like to add a hundred HP to the wheels, but don't want to lose the sweet drive-ability of this machine. I forgot that I had put 295's on the rear with GSD3's. I wonder if that cost me some in the Trq.

I am guessing that 100 HP/Torque would cost me in the neighborhood of 7-10k I keep hearing of people adding a ram air type intake, headers, exhuast and a tune and gaining several HP, but I have yet to see a Dyno that proves the increase from just those mods.

Thoughts??

Any way you help your engine "breath" better with exterior mods should result in at least minor HP increases. Then comes heads, intakes, cams etc. I'm curious now about the programming of my car. I need to get it hooked up to see if the previous owner did anything in that arena. They did do a K&N and Flowmasters.
