What kind of HP increase can I expect from upgrading my air filter intake, if any? on a 2002 Z06

It depends on whether you care to believe the manufacturers claims. You might notice a slightly better "sound" (not to be confused with more power). You might notice slightly better SOTP performance.
If you were to put the car on a dyno, probably little hp/tq improvement in reality. The tangible benefit to any after market intake system is an improvement in appearance over oem and (hopefully) better filtration. Cheap (offshore) manufactured EBAY intakes are debatable in terms of filtration abilities. Someone is bound to argue that, they always do.
An intake will probably be the start of more $$$ modifications and those combinations might show actual tangible improvements over oem.
This gets discussed regularly and many past discussions can be found with "search this forum" in the red banner in C5 Tech. You might try using keywords "K&N" or "CAI" or "intake".
It's your car to do with as you please!

I agree with Hotwheels. I don't think I have yet to read a post where someone put the car on a dyno before and then directly after an intake mod. Mine has a blackwing, but that's becuase it came with it when I bought it.

Ive read that some get better performance from the stock paper filters..the danger with K&N is that you can over oil them which will cut down on air flow

Im betting that by changing from a std to K&N you may gain somthing...but youd need a dyno to find it..cumalitively with other mods you will be better off..but from teh filter alone....not much
