I have a left rear tire sensor that quite functioning and the dealer can't get it working again. They said it has to be replaced. I can buy one on line for a lot less than the dealer wants. Can I bypass the other sensors during the programing of the left rear or must I go through the entire set up of all four wheels?

When you program sensors, you program them in this order LF, RF, RR, LR. So you can't bypass one to get to another. It only takes a minute to do them all though. Here's the link you need. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...ht=TPS+program
Also when ordering the TPS, I assume you know that there are 2 different types - one for model years 1997 - 2000 and the other for model years 2001 - 2004 and the 2 types are not interchangeable.

Get the sensor from GMPartsHouse. And when you get it installed, you will have to go through the entire programming process (all 4 sensors), but it only takes about 2 minutes to do all four.
Just talked to the service department at Spitzer Chevrolet and they said that the battery in the sensor can not be replaced because they are sealed but they don't go active until they are in motion. I was concerned about setting around on a shelf for 3 0r 4 years before you get them. They said average 5-7 years for a sensor, the good news, they will program them at no cost just stop by, takes two minutes.
corect on battery life... and time to program
The cheapest place to buy them is posted about... Gene Culley at www.GMPartshouse.com
your profile does not state the age of your Vette. You may be nearing the end of the potted battery life for all 4 sensors. Potted means encased in a thermoset resin. Some have experimented with self replacement using a dremel tool to remove the resine, removing the battery, soldering a new one in place and repotting with epoxy resin.
