I've had a vibration noise coming from my car when the stereo hits bass (in addition to the Bose rattle) and thought it was my door panel. After listening to it a little longer and putting the window down etc. I've concluded it's the loose black trim around the outside of the window. What adhesive should I use to secure it? There is much more play than the other side so it's loose for sure.
The vibration goes away with the window down and it sounds stronger close to the seat area, so I think it's the actual plastic trim piece itself loose and hitting against the glass. I'll have to keep an eye out for the side mirror for future reference, but so far so good.
If I can fix the trim piece and my bose emblems I might have a shot at listening to the stereo without all kinds of interior noises, what a concept!
No expert here, but there is adhesive designed for window trim, I think I bought mine at the local auto store. Just be careful with it, and watch for any seeping, you want it to be neat and tidy!
Good idea, I might try that and see how it goes instead of glue. I'm nervous about using glue and getting it on the paint during application.
Might try glue on the bose emblems and see how that goes. Really would like to listen to the stereo without these freakin rattles.
I used clear adhesive silicone "household glues" to glue emblems on. Well, I removed the Bose emblems and put Dynaudio emblem in place. Has held very well.
I also used this stuff to hold the door pins in place, keep the styro noise plug from rattling... etc etc.
Sadly, my door speakers rattle everything on my car, so I feel like I'm chasing my tail :/
I have very similar door noise from the Bose speakers. I also haven't found much of a workaround, except of course turning the bass down a bit. Novel concept, I know...I know...
Thanks for another tip, maybe I'll pick some up. I was sure that was the source given it goes away when the window is down but I looked a little closer and it might be the plastic trim on the inside next to the window. The weather stripping had been jammed in their by the former owner...probably as a stop gap. I noticed it only after putting it back in place (course it was within the first week anyway so tough to tell). I might try putting some rubber and adhesive behind the panel. The search contines. I like just listening to the engine too, but sometimes I want to drown out my ac vents which are rattling....ugh. I know it's a Corvette but come one. The vents are much quieter when moved to the far right or left though. Still love the car though.
