If you want decent heads for cheap prices you can check out supporting vendor Livernois Motorsports.
http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/...t.phtml?p=1350

Similar prices but you keep your heads. You could get thier stage 1 setup for $1000, sell yours for $500 (or they'll pay you $300 for yours,) and only be out $500.

Just got my brand new Stage II TEA LS6 heads for my new forged 347 blower motor being finished up as we speak. They shoud make BIG POWER and flow right up there with the Trick Flow TFS heads (same valve technology). They sent me my flow numbers and flowing over 300 cfm at .500 lift and over 325 flow at .600 lift, with very strong flow numbers on both the intake and exhaust side. TEA has a FANTASTIC reputation and proven results in the LS world!

Heads are failry affordable as you can get Patriot LS6 heads for a core for $425 shipped (or provide your LS6 stockers) and with this core the brand new TEA Heads cost me a little over $1800 wich is not too bad (fully assembled with the best dual Platinum springs that $ can buy)! Stay tuned for numbers via my ECS D1SC blower making between 12 and 14 lbs of boost (which should be good well over 700rwhp with my 224/230, 114+2, .581/.592 Comp Blower cam!

I would go with the Stg 2 and a Futral F13. It is a cookbook proven setup on LS1tech. I loved my TEA stg 2 5.3s. They turned 436rwhp/415 rwtq on a F11 228/230 112+4 cam LS6 intake stock ported TB and 1 3/4 Kooks a friend went over 450rwhp with a FAST/90 and we turned virtually identical # before the intake swap, lots of tq. Livernois has a solid rep too but I'm partial to TEA and their customer service.
