Default Painting radio bezel

How would a guy go about painting the radio bezel and the other plastic dash parts? What do you use to paint the lower door panels?
Thanks Guys

Prime it with a good primer, then hit it with paint. SEM is decent stuff for satin black. Paintscratch is expensive but a better match.

I textured and painted my a-pillars after remolding them.

Very nice Harry . Interested in how/what you used to "texture" them. I am planning a minor mod to by bezel for the double din NAV system so it looks more at home. I have a pretty good idea how I'm going to shape/mold the opening but not too sure how to texture it. (I bought C5 black interior paint from Corvette Central in Carlisle)

SEM Texture coat. $17.99 a can. Alternatively you can use spray bedliner in a can for $6.49 but it comes out much chunkier.

Makes a sort of "textured plastic look" with the stock cap

I used a cap from a rubberized undercoating can, and it came out much thicker - more like leather or vinyl look.

This is with naked texture spray, before hitting it with 400grit to smooth it down:

My car is in the process of being painted right now so i thought i would pull the plastic parts off and prep them myself if i knew how.I want to have them painted the same color as the car. What about the roughness on the parts?

I've got a few Word files that I created from past posts here on the forum about painting interior pieces. Be glad to share them with you if you PM me your e-mail address.

Keep in mind a lot of the parts are covered in vinyl.

Kale, I really like your tweets in the A pillars, that's on my list. Good advise on the textured base paint. Lowes is my source for textured paint.

Kale you bum, you've been holding out on me.

Is that SEM stuff a home depot/lowes product or should I start web searching?

old55: Be sure to temporarily mount with a strap/tape/whatever before fixing them. 1/8" of difference, or even 5 degrees is a HUGE sound difference. This is my second set :/

RadioFlyer:

SEM is not available at home depot... Gotta find a specialty paint store.

Sherwin Williams? I have one of those right across the street. Where'd you get yours? Now I can mold my EQ mount myself.

For my bezel I used SEM texture paint, sanded it down to smooth out a bit. Then used SEM Landeau Black. Matches very well as stock.

If you want a smooth finish, you have a ton of sanding ahead of you. Start with ~200 grit to level it, 400 grit to smooth it out.. then you can start sanding for primer, paint.. clear.
