I have been running the factory supplied goodyear emts on my 2000 vette. I am thinking about some new tires and have been considering "regular tires". I hear they are less noisy. anybody have experience in this area? please give your opinion, suggestion etc. thanks plunkman
FWIW, I went from runcraps and wagon wheels to z06 wheels and the Firestone wide ovals in z sizes. Bang for the buck a great tire - I would get them again in a heartbeat. Quiet, good in the rain, and are (so far) holding my power upgrades.
I've heard TOYO (T1-R) is a decent tire at a good price, but it's really a summer tire. It really depends on how you want to drive it as to which tire would suit your needs.

There's quite a few decent performance tires out there
if you don't want the run-flats.A lot of people base their
choices on driving styles, and then it's really a matter of
opinion which tire is best.
I personally have BF Goodrich KDW2's and have been very
pleased with the results over the Yokohama AVS sports I had
previously.
The TireRack has a comprehensive list on comparing performance
tires along with owner feedback.
This might help you make your decision a little easier.

Good lucke to ya!!!
I am interested in the BFG KDW2's but heard they are noisy - is this true?
I currently am running BF Goodrich KDW2's 18/19 combo. My previous tires were Michelin Pilot Sport. Michelin handles much better and are quieter, definitely not noiser. I bought the BF Goodrich's because Michelin stopped making the 19" tires.
I'm running Michelin PS2's, and I love them. 265 in front and 315 in the rear. They stick great, ride nice, seem to wear well, and I guess they're quiet, but the stereo is far too loud to tell.
Less noise, superior handling and better wet traction. By far superior. Most important, no more letting the road imperfections dictate where you will drive.

This of course is my opinion but,I'd have to say no.
I took a road trip to Chicago last year about 350 miles
one-way,and I was impressed with them but, then again
maybe I'm just not as sensitized to them as other
people might be.
Just a side note,on the way back to St.Louis we got
caught in a torrential downpour and those tires never
missed a beat,hands-down best performance tire with
wet capabilities I've ever driven.
