I have a stock engine with Six speet manual tranny, I would like to add a few more horses but I am not sure what to do next. I changed the air filter for K&N and changed the cat back system. I would like to feel a fast take off. what do you guys suggest? Thx.
It all depends on how much you want to spend. Longtube headers you'll feel a little bit. A new set of gears will give you a kick in the pants. And of course heads and cam, supercharger, or turbos
have any of you guys changed the gears? and what ratio would be the best to get, keep in mind that my vette is also my every day trasnportation.
thx.
3.90's-4.10's. Your MN6 is a double over drive so you will still cruise at freeway speeds at a decent RPM & acceleration will be awesome. Call us for a quote.
I looked at you website, it's awsome!!! and the price for the gears is not bad base on your site. are you guys located in FL?? I am in California how much would it cost to ship to me and back to you?

With the fuel where it is (we have a full race/car transport) it runs around $1.50 a mile one way (or more depending on price of diesel), but you have Andy at A&A that can do you a quality job for less when you figure the transport cost. (or could use one of the commercial companies that may cost less as we only haul one car at a time). Andy has an excellent rep & is not far from you.

4.10s are the best performance mod I've done to date. 6th gear at 65 mph doing 1700 rpms. Can't beat it. And probably the cheapest performance mod for the improvement realized.
Start with gears....no hp gains but it feels like you have 50hp more (4.10's all the way). Next, cam and LT headers would be a nice combo.
I had all my work done in stages and grew as I wanted more power.
Stage one. LT's Random Tech high flow cats (complete midsection) and tune net....338hp 347.1tq
Stage two. AFR 205heads/LG G5X-3 cam and 4.10's. Net
449hp 412tq
Stage three...see sign
As I did things I always felt the need for more until now
If your in California there are several shops in LA area and some in the SF Bay Area. I had Synergy near Fremont, CA. ( a supporting vendor ) put 3.40s in my A4 and did a dyno tune to go with intake mods. WOW what a difference it made. Well worth the doing. And I still get about 28mpg on the freeway.
Thank you guys! you have given me some good info here. I will start with the gears then go with the LT headers. I think this will keep me pretty happy for a while. Now I was looking at Eckler's catalog and they have a set of 3.90 gears with severe duty output shaft or standard duty output shaft, do any of you guys know what is the difference? I undersand one is stronger than the other but after this Mod my engine will continue to be stock. do you guys think I need to get the 3.90 set of gears with the severe duty ouput shaft?
