I hope I didn't post this twice. WOULD you BUY a 2002 coupe w/32,000 miles that was a leased car and auctioned twice and the seller only owned since 02/??/07????

Reason: left work out
I have owned several off lease cars including my '99 vet. The main thing I look at is the milage/maintance issue. You know that a leased auto is not going to be taken care of as well as an owed car. But I have had no problems with an off lease auto. My '99 was $2000.00 under market when I bought it, and has had no issues. Have it inspected for damage repair and get a dealer to run the vin through his computer to see what has been done, including any warranty work. Of course Carfax should be checked too, but they don't always catch everything. The seller didn't even know it had the $3000.00 option mag wheels. It had 34,000 miles on it when I purchased it.
The Carfax showed that it was serviced and dealer checked it out for front end steering/driveablity and found to be okay. The dealer also serviced-changed oil and washed it lol.The owner says he went to his dealer and wanted a clean car and they bought at auction and he bought because it came from Fl. (seller is from Ct.) The cost is $22,000.00 with 4 yrs and 3 mo. left on extended warranty.

I question that statement. I have leased three C5's and now my C6. I baby my cars just as though they are my own, and in fact bought my 2002 from the leasing company at the end of term because the residual was less than wholesale value, and I felt the car was too nice to just give back to the bank. Still have it.
I looked on kerbecks site found an 02 with 43,000 miles for the same price.I know the car your looking at has less miles, for me there"s just to many unkowns.Florida car could be a flood? i know carfax is suposed to clear, but who knows. Also to many possable drivers behind the wheel to beat the crap out of it.I could"nt buy a lease vette.Just my thinking on it.Good luck...................

My slant. Life is a gamble, so is a Vette purchase like this. It could make you very happy or very unhappy, It's a gamble into the unknown. It was sent to the dealer to have the front suspension checked for a good reason. If the work was performed correctly it's fine to me, if not it isn't. The price is good if it's a good, sound car. I have an '02 Vert that I bought new and wouldn't part with it for anything. As others have said before you sign your name do as much homework as you can. Including having a very sceptical mechanic with body repair knowledge give it the thumbs up or down. A vin check would also be a necessity. The thing to hold in your mind is the price seems fine if after the sale you aren't burdened with additional moneys spent to bring the car up to meet your standards. These cars are not inexpensive to have repaired, but being here helps a great deal. Good luck with your purchase/search. Something else to keep in mind is that there are MANY great deals out there on quite a great number of very nice low mileage C5s.
I just bought a 03 Z06 this year that was leased for 2 yrs then someone bought it the same day it came in from lease. then it was dealer traded a few times then I saw it. It was the best vette I had came across and the price was right! It had 15,000mi on it when I got it in febuary. I put an about 5000mi on it this summer with no problems at all. I did a car fax, car proof, DMV check and checked the service and warrenty info at the dealer. I also checked all the codes on the DIC. The car turned out to be the best C5 that I came across. I have beat this car hard and it has not let me down. Do your home work and you will be happy.
