Well so much doing mods this winter.

I don't post here often, but do lurk alot. I have learned so much on this forum in the last year it is mind boggling.
I have also caught the mod bug from this forum.
I had planned on a few mods this winter. Mostly interier stuff. New head unit, possibly speakers. Some bling here and there.
Well that all got thrown out the window Thursday afternoon. I had a dumba$$ attack and slipped on the ice at the end of my driveway.
Broke my right fibia up by my knee, "ruptured" the ligament that runs along it all the way to my ankle where it tore away from the ankle.
So technically that broke my ankle. According to the surgeon, if the screws are not put in, the ankle joint will fall apart..
Surgery is thursday this coming week. Two screws through the fibia into the tibia. OUCH!!
This will stabilize my ankle and allow the damage to heal. The fibia break, by the knee, will heal without any hardware.
Outpatient operation. Thank God.

Six weeks minimum before I can drive again.
But I can go back to work the first or second week of 08'. "Note to self...cancel chauffer's vacation"
Ten weeks after the operation the screws have to come back out.

Kinda glad I drug my feet on buying anything big $$$ for the car. This will put a dent in the saving account. I do have insurance, but 80/20 to $10,000. So the 2k that probably would have went to the vette now go into mods on meh leg.
Sorry for the long rant. I was looking forward to communing with my baby.
BE CAREFUL OUT THERE FOLKS!!! This happened so fast I was on the ground before I knew what was going on.
Oh by the way....VICOTIN ROCKS!!!

I too have had some surgeries the past two years (Lower Back Disc Replacement and a right AC Joint Shoulder reconstruction - Work related though)
You will recoupe and be back in the saddle again and be able to mod! Be glad you have at least 80/20 some don't have that!
Hey tax returns soon so maybe by the time you're healed up you will be able to spend the return on the Vette and not bills
Thanks,Matt

Get some good
Take care

I feel your pain. I slipped on Oct.20 and broke my ankle also. A ss plate and four screws and two screws on the oher side. SUCKS! The cast comes off next week, then on to rehab. Hope to be driving the car again by New Year's Eve. Yes, Vicodin does rock!

Get healed asap!
Pat

Good Luck on a speedy recovery! ...
