I need someone to do the Halltech front filler plate screen mod for me. Anyone out there doing these for members? I just had my filler plate finished in blue carbon fiber and it is ready to cut for the mod.
It's not bad, once you hold the filler in your hands you start to see what you need to do.
Since I knew I was repainting mine I hit it up with sand paper and paint carb cleaner, wiped it down then layed out the square I wanted to cut with masking tape (for a straight line) and traced it out with a sharpie. I rounded out the corners by hand then got out my dremmel. Once it was cut out I filed down the edges, grabbed my 25' length of black plastic door trim and started lining the inside of the hole. Cut to fit and used black silicone to fill in where the 2 ends met. I lined the back side with a bead of hot glue to help secure it even though the door edge trim is "self adhesive."
For the screen, that's just a matter of cut to fit and hot glue also.
I'm still waiting on a picture of the hole people have been cutting into their front bumpers so I know how large to make it.
