with all the LED interior craze lately i decided to tackle this one myself, i really liked the clean look of the White LED's, so i purchased a bunch of LED's and resistors from Oznium, im using 3mm superbright white LED's.
Heres my problem, so far i have the door panels and DIC/Dash dimmer switch completed. The door panels look great, but im having a problem with the DIC.
The light coming from them just isnt as brilliant as the rest, and slighly yellowish. Anyone of you LED gurus have any idea what could cause this?
And second, if you have the White LED's installed could you please post pics of your interior so i can take a look for comparison, thanks in advance!
i had the same problem they look yellowish . my window switch was the same from using it to much it stained yellow i cleaned it and still yellow had to buy another one. now my dic i bought a brand new one did the white led its white but not like the door switch its still kinda yellowish. you might have to get a new dic switch
LED lighting is more direct and concentrated (narrow beam ). it does not travel well through thick material either .
I had the same problem when I converted my 97 to blue LEDs , the DIC buttons were not as bright as the rest of the setup .
the rubber menu buttons cover will pull out . I cut the material down in the back a bit to allow more light to travel .
make sure you don't cut too much , you will need to leave enough material for the buttons to stay in place .
it will make sense once you pull out the rubber cover and look at it .

Cool, ill take a look at that tonight, i take it this fixed it for you? Also, do the button covers just pull of from the front?
i did as posted above, removed the buttons and trimmed ALOT of rubber from the back of them, its tedious and you have to be really careful, but when completed they now look perfect
