C5 Newb....
A few of you might have seen my post in the C4 section last week about looking into selling or trading my 95 for a 08...Well after an insulting offer on my 95, I decided to check out some C5's...
I thought I found what I wanted (04 Mag Red A4 cp with 21k miles) and after a 265 mile one way trip I came back empty handed. Some dealers just lie through their teeth... Imagine that. (That story is in the Post Mag Red Pics thread from last week)
After getting back Saturday night I searched Autotrader.com to see what else was out there.....5 miles from me was an 01 Cp 6sp Z51 2 top, 12 disc cd, Heads up, memory, 27k mile 1 owner Mag Red C5...another Mag Red...
Went to the closed dealer to check it out, looked pretty good.
Today I went back, took it for a good drive and ask the dealer if I could take it home and check it out futher....They said yes.
With the help of forum member TN 2005 C6 (thanks Bob) we went over it from top to bottom.....
Went back to the dealer with it tonight and after some haggling, made it mine...
The good news in all of this is I get to keep my much loved 95 and add a very nice Z51 6sp to the garage...I forgot how much fun a 6sp can be ....
BTW...while I was dealing on the 01 the Chevy dealer called about the 08..they upped the trade in value on the 95 by $1,500. If they would have made that offer on the first shot, I might have been in the 08 last week...No regets.....I think this is gonna work out just fine....

The only mod in the near future will be a Skip Shift Eliminator....if that's a mod
Then maybe wheels and Corsa and "Thats All I Need"...and maybe.........
