Default leather care

I have had my Vette for only a couple of month, it has about 35k on it. There is already significant ware on the leather on the corner of the drivers seat from getting in and out. Is it normal to ware so fast? What can be done or what do you guys do to slow that down? I have another car with over 150k that has about the same amount of ware. I ended up puting sheep skins on it to hopefuly stop it from getting worse. I have never seen a Vette with sheepshin covers though. Any products or recomendations? Maybe a coating or something!!

It is normal. There are several after market covers for these seats from Mid America and Eckler's. I would first check the forum vendors for these covers.

I bought an oem from a forum vendor and had it installed at my local dealer. If you wear a cell phone it can rub against the edge when you enter/exit the car.

I have seen that type wear many times,I put denim covers on to protect my seats,It's also more comfortable in the summer here in the south.

Your profile doesn't say what year your car is? Early C5's used leather side pieces, later years went to vinyl because of wear.

Me, I hate leather seats. I had used cloth seat covers in the summer (only last one season) and sheepskin in the winter (a little bulky), but then I switched to Wet Okales (sp?), I love them. Been on several years, no wear. Warm in winter and don't get hot in summer.

I'll have to update my profile. It's an '02 Someone asked what I ware and about a cell phone. I mostly ware Blue jeans to work and carry my cell in my shirt pocket. I'm thinking that @ 6'5" just my size makes getting in and out different than most. Seat covers are probably the best bet with the heat here in Arizona. I just like the look without covers but hate to see the lleather getting so trashed.
Thanks for the ideas

My car is the same way. The guy before me was much smaller than you are however. Probably about 5' 6" and 140 pounds. With the cost of skins being pretty spendy I will first be getting a quote to have it repaired at a local upolstery shop that I found in the yellow pages. Supossedly they can repair just that 9" X 4" section. I'm hoping it'll be less than $150. R/ Al
