Who here is catless with heads/cam and stock TI exhaust?
ALways heard a catless Z with headers, etc., sounds sweet, catless and with the stock TI exhaust on back.
Thinking of going this rount on my 02 Z for the new forged heads/cam 346 LS6 blower motor going in.
If you have heads/cam/headers on your Z, and your catless with stock exhaust, how you liking it?
PLease give me pros and cons for running this way if you have actually experienced it personally!

I have LT's no cats, and stock TI's. I love the sound It is louder with out the cats. You do get a gas smell. You will only notice it when the car is not moving, and windows down. I think it might be worse with a big cam. IMO it is no big deal.

I have a pretty big cam and do get the gas smell but it doesnt bother me. and as above it is only while sitting still. car is pretty quite and i have considered going to a different exhaust to make it louder. but it does sound very good as is...

Here is 9 track runs also for you to judge when I am not drounded out from another car. I had to hit the brakes or let up because of the roll bar rule.

I'm catless with a cam and stock Ti's.
The sound is much nicer without the cats but I smell like gas whenever I come back from a cruise
I still wouldnt put them back.

H/C lg longtubes no cats and Ti's here. I actually had my buddy drive my car tonight so I could hear it second hand and it sounded pretty damn good. I just went from quad stingers back to the Ti's, while I miss the awesome obnoxious sound, the Ti's still sound good.

PETE,
Here is your chance to get some bad azz B&B Bullets for an even trade for your stock TI Z06 exhaust!
Thanks for the feedback guys keep her coming!
If anyone wants to take a trip up to CHicago in about 1.5 to 2 weeks, most likely I would trade straight up my good condition B&B Bullets for your stock Z06 TI exhaust! HONESTLY!

Jim.. Im also catless with longtubes and the stock Ti. I dont have a H/C set up but I love the way the car sounds. If you drive nice and easy its just got a nice mellow tone but when you get in it hard its fairly loud (not too loud). I like the way it sounds.

I've got kooks high flow cats and had my welder V-band some 'off-road' pipes so I can swap them in and out for inspection/race purposes in a couple of minutes.
W/O the cats the car has a raw sound. like gargling broken glass and nails. have a listen from behind the car:
with the cats its a good bit quieter then that but still sounds pretty raw.

Thanks guys, and this is the way I am really leaning especially after hearing Always In Boost's killer Z06, ripping of that mid 10 second pass on his blown Z.
That car is simply bad the bone!
On that video, was that with your built heads/cam blower motor or stock LS6, b/c I am trying to gauge the sound of blown h/c LS6 vs. stock, since my new blower motor will be a heads/cams motor also.
Given the fact you recently trapped 140mph and got into the 9s, and the video shows you trap at 130, my guess is this video shows your blown Z when it had the stock LS6 motor in it?

I sold the B&B for stock Ti mufflers a while ago. I don't think I have any clips of the cats on or off with the stock Ti's.

WOW, so that is exactly how my car would sound then if i was catless with my BULLETTS and with my new forged blower motor going in!
Maybe I will just keep my bulletts!
Honestly though, for normal everyday driving was it too loud for you with the BULLETS as far as being WAY ONBOXIOUS and getting pulled over by the man (or doable)?
I like loud and bad azz sounding but am getting too old for being pulled over by every suburban cop I am driving nearby and having the wife BITCHing constantly if we go for a couple hour drive on a weekend!

I never got pulled over for the exhaust, or anything for that matter, but it was pretty loud. If I didn't want to drive the car everyday and didn't mind the extra attention that goes along with it I would have kept the bullets on there because it sounds GOOD!
Stock Ti's with cats is MUCH quieter but still loud enough for me.
