Headers will make my car sound bad?
I was thinking of adding headers to my '98. The only mods I have are GHL Bullets and Corsa X pipe.
Will headers make the sound/tone of my exhaust crummy? A local Corvette tuner/garage told me that...

What? Love the way my headers make my car sound. Guess it's all about what you like, it will get louder.

That garage is wrong and do not let them do your header work or any other for that matter. I love the sound of my Vette with headers

Definitely louder. Unsure how to interpret "make your car sound bad" - sounds like an odd thing for a tuner to say

I have a few omre modds, but I have headers w/ the stock TI mufflers. I think it sounds great!!! but I am not really sure how yours would sound with how its setup!!!
Its also just HIS opinion, about YOUR vette!! If you want them get them.. If they aren't helping get you more power and makes it sound bad then go back to stock!!! GOOD LUCK!!

Run forrest run
I guess the wrong kind of headers (aka cheapies). Get a good shop under that car and a nice set of American Racing / Kooks / LG's / others and you'll be pleased.

I was very surprised because the shop has an extremely good reputation around town for being the place to go for corvette work...

A header will make a 4banger sound tin canish, not a pushrod V8.

They obviously don't know what the hell they are talking about. I love the sound since headers were put onto my C5.

Do you mean "bad" in a good way or "bad" in the bad way?
I am running Corsa Pace Cars with GHL long tube headers - and I've been told my car sounds "bad", as in "sick" or "bada$$"......

BosqueVette98, my friend of 20+ years told me the same thing AFTER hearing my vette
. Said it sounded "Ricerish". I think he is full of it. Bruce @ Scottys installed my AR Headers, and IMO, it's the best exhaust sound on a car I've heard (aside from perhaps a boosted mustang, but don't tell anybody
)
LMK if you want to hear it sometime. Should have a little free time, but I'll be moving (3 car garage FINALLY) soon.
