Definitely louder. Unsure how to interpret "make your car sound bad" - sounds like an odd thing for a tuner to say

Headers will make my car sound bad?
I was thinking of adding headers to my '98. The only mods I have are GHL Bullets and Corsa X pipe.
Will headers make the sound/tone of my exhaust crummy? A local Corvette tuner/garage told me that...

I have a few omre modds, but I have headers w/ the stock TI mufflers. I think it sounds great!!! but I am not really sure how yours would sound with how its setup!!!
Its also just HIS opinion, about YOUR vette!! If you want them get them.. If they aren't helping get you more power and makes it sound bad then go back to stock!!! GOOD LUCK!!

I guess the wrong kind of headers (aka cheapies). Get a good shop under that car and a nice set of American Racing / Kooks / LG's / others and you'll be pleased.

BosqueVette98, my friend of 20+ years told me the same thing AFTER hearing my vette . Said it sounded "Ricerish". I think he is full of it. Bruce @ Scottys installed my AR Headers, and IMO, it's the best exhaust sound on a car I've heard (aside from perhaps a boosted mustang, but don't tell anybody
