Default Daily Driver Maintenance/Upkeep

I have a 2004 Automatic coupe that I use as my daily driver. While most of you enjoy the tuning and upgrading of the horsepower, I'm rather happy and satisfied with the engine the way it is. I just wanted to know, as a daily driver(and looking to driver it well over 150,000 miles), besides the premium gas, oil changes on time, and maintenance upkeep(before something drastic happens), are there any mods that you guys would consider a necessity for the longevity of the car? or should I leave it as is and enjoy it ? any input would help. Thanks!

my C5 coupe, my DD with almost 85,000 miles, is relatively stock.... well except for the Z06 Ti exhaust, the Vararam CAI system, Kumho tires, and I have royal purple fluids in everything.... Love it and drive it as much as I can....
As for you.... keep the fluids fresh, and maybe open the exhaust a bit or the air intake and I bet you'd be happy...

HTH,

Sully

Still kinda new at vettes myself but usually a trans cooler if they don't already have helps the life of them by a good amount. Haven't really heard of too many trans problems in C5s though.

neither have I. According to the owner manual..Dex Coolant is all you need.

I see you live in LA. Where abouts? I'm in Glendale.

HTH,

Sully
I visited thelapd.com and went to their shop about a week ago. Great guys indeed. I will be going there for oil changes and any kind of maintenance. The manager at the shop, like you, recommended a aftermarket stock which will help the engine breathe better.

I have a 1998 with 109,000 miles. I do all the required maintenance, which is not a lot. I have had only 2 problems: oil sensor and one headlight gear. These cars are well built and if you don't abuse them (hard driving is not abuse), they will last for many, many years and miles.

The engine is suppose to last 200,000 miles.

The power train of these cars is phenomenal. Keeping up with your fluid changes is one of the best things you can do for longevity.

TheLegacy81, you're in Southern California as I am. With the hot summers, while this is not mandatory, I thing as an "insurance mod", an upgraded larger radiator might be worth considering. I believe you said you were almost all stock. Here's one to consider...

In reality, a stock car will do just fine. Nothing really comes to mind that would need to be added.
