before/after lowering shots
It took my neighbor (who has a refurbished stock C3) about 1 hour. He doesn't know much about C5's but he is learning quick. He has worked on mine a few times. The cool part is his profession. He aligns cars and trucks. So, after I drive it for a week, I am putting on new tires and gettin it aligned.
When we first sat it down after doing the suspension work, it was sitting higher than when we started. Once I drove it around the block it had almost completely settled. By the next morning it was right where I wanted it.
This was lowered on stock bolts. Thanks to the informative threads in this forum, it was not a difficult task and took away a lot of the aprehension.
My before pics aren't that great b/c of the angles and shadows, so I lightened them up a bit. The pic from the rear really shows the difference. I used a camera phone first, but I also have pics from a good cam. (later maybe)
The other pic was my inspiration (already posted numerous times)

I just raised my vette a full inch. Apparently the previous owner had lowered it all the way on stock bolts. To you enthusiast, my car now looks like a 4 wheeler . To me, it definitely sits a little taller. However, I'm so relieved to not scrape and grind over every speed bump and entry way.
Nothing turned me off more than to pull into a restaurant and see the heads turn when I grind the opproach.
I'll always be a fan of slammers, just not mine. Life's a compromise.

Ya know- the scraping isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I took the car and drove it about 100 miles or so to test out the new feel, etc.
It has its good points and bad points, but so far it feels real good and looks even better.
I was already used to the fascia scraping so that isnt a biggy...
What I was concerned about was encountering something that I just could not get over, for example, the entrance to my workplace. There is a HUGE speedbump.
The bossman noticed my car right away and said "just be careful when you come in the out-gate" (no speedbump there)
Its all good.

I've been thinking about doing it for a while and now seeing all of these cool pics, especially Jetz (once again) I now NEED to do it!When I get back from my Christmas trip to London I'm gonna get on it.
Thanks guys for convincing me

Hope this helps, it's what I used.

and here it is after lowering on stock bolts

Can you tell a noticeable difference? It really drives more 'attached' to the road now, and does scrape the front spoiler a bit more frequently, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. What do you guys think?

...Looks much better now ...
