Difficult on any less than 10'. Car #1 height + car #2 height + 5" deck height + 5"-6" for lock height.
my c5 is about 45" high. So stacking two c5's would need 102" (8.5'). Don't forget you will need some room for your garage door rails. If you have an opener, you will probably need at least 10"-12".

Garage is 19 ' wide but 35' long will put in back, far from door, no car under, just to work on.

A lot depends on the lift mfg. I have the Autolifters (now All American Lifts). The locks are on 5" increments.----- 43", 48", 53", 58" & 63". My C5 has the stock ride height (has not been lowered) and is 48" tall. So, the minimum lock height is 53" that I can park the C5 under. My ramps are 4" thick, and it takes 2" of overtravel to set the locks. So far I've used up 59" (53" + 4" + 2"). You will want at least 1" clearance between the car's roof, that is parked on top, so now we are at 60". Subtract that from the height of of garage, 109", and you will have 49", just barely enough to park a second C5. If you don't plan on parking a car on top, but just plan on using the lift to raise the car for oil changes, and the like then you can lift the car to the 53" lock position. You will have more then the 53" to work on your car though. You have the 53" + the 4" (ramp thickness) and the distance from the ramp to the bottom of your car, approx 4-5", for a total of 61". If you're 6' tall, you're going to have to bend over some, if you're 5' tall, you have it made.

Some companies, that built their lifts to order, will built them with the locks at different settings, For example, 40", 45", 50", 55", 60". Now you can park your 48" tall C5 using the 50" lock position and that will allow you to park a car that's 51" on top.

Thank you, no other cars to park under, maybe riding lawnmower. just need to work on car. Are these lifts bolted to floor or can you move them.

I bought my lift from Complete Hydraulics. my ceiling is 9' 3" but, its hard to work on some cars. Im taking the rafters out soon. so I can get the full 6' of working room. I know there are some lifts (4 post) that might work for you. Mine is a 2 post. Good Luck!

Not meaning to hijack your thread, but I just took delivery on a 10K# two post lift from Complete Hydraulics on Friday. Mine is 11'6" or 12'5" tall, but I am installing it in my industrial building to work on my own stuff. I'm getting to old to lay under them any more. Just wondered if you were happy with yours. Sure came at a good price.

The 4-post lifts don't need to be bolted down. Some people place a plate between the ramps (approx 40"wide) to make a solid platform to store things they only use occasionally like the lawn tractor. They then can raise the lift and park the car they drive under the lift. When you do need to work on the car, clear of the crap stored on the lift and have at it.

What a lot of people don't realize is you can cut the ceiling joists out (of a one story garage) and raise them up or even remove them. But don't do this without have a structural engineer or a knowledgeable building contractor

Im very happy with mine. I got the 10k one too but I think its the one with the plate on the bottom. The shipping company could of been a little better, got some scratchs, but very happy.

??? Why? You can't just throw a hand grenade into a room like that.

And I trust you are not referring to All American Lifts, but to another company; my experience with AAL was quite satisfactory.

I have ~110 inches to the garage rafters. My C5 (48" tall) and C6 (49" tall) fit with 2-3 inches to spare when at max height (high enough to unlock the safety stops).

I believe you could get a car up to the 53" lift height with a 108" ceiling (9 feet even), but it would be pretty tight to the rafters. If you have to settle for the 48" position, plan on working from a rolling stool under the car. I'm 5'7", and the 53" position is the lowest I want the car to be to stand under it. FWIW, I will raise it to about 57-58" when I do work under the car; the extra few inches allow me to stand upright when my head is under the tunnel/tranny area

I have a "Complete Hydraulic" SL10000BP two post lift. My ceiling is 9' 3".

I have used it with my C5(fair clearance) , 79 TA, less clearance, workable and my T-Bird.

I REALLY wish the ceiling was higher, but I didn't want to modify a 13 year old, $900,000 house.

The scary thing is, to go "down" the lift must raise up 2-3" to release the locks. So, you better not hit the "up" button instead. OR, panic and RELEASE the "down" button, it will then have to go even HIGHER, to lower!

The lift itself, is great! Especially for the C5. I can't imagine NOT having the asymetric/symetric capability!

You could use some four post lifts or even some two post lifts with your ceiling height, but you (obviously) won't be able to lift to full height with some vehicles. You can use a creeper or a creeper stool or even an old office chair to work beneath the car.
You might look at KWIK LIFT. There's no electric or hydraulics to them. You drive on and lift the back end with a floor jack. The KWIK LIFT will give you 20" from grade to the runways and typically 30" to the chassis of most vehicles...a Corvette would be less. You're still on your back, but with much more room to work. They're adjustable to different widths/lengths.

Our garage ceiling is 9'5". With my BendPak there is plenty of room for storage of two Vettes
Not a bunch to work under the lift though
