Didnt know you could do that? The bezels I have are designed to fit over the black rings. Maybe theres another design out that I havent seen before?
This is one of the best mods I have done. It's amazing how much better the cluster looks once you get the bezels on. The project is fairly simple, but you do have to take off the center console and radio bezel to get to the cluster assembly. Most of it is just pulling screws and bolts, and carefully pulling plastic tabs. The most difficult part for me was getting my hand behind the cluster to unplug the main electrical feed/plug.
Word of advice... If you do this, you may want to do the LED mod to the DIC while you have everything apart. I did mine using the neo-wedge LEDs. They screw-in in place of the existing bulbs and require no resistors, etc. That was the second best interior mod I've done. The difference is amazing as well.
This link will get you to the point where you can install the guage bezels and LEDs. Disregard Steps 30 on down (all the resistior stuff) if you go with the neo-wedges: http://www.spdkilz.com/techtipleddic.html
