The TPW for my EB-Z is 12/3. It will be a daily driver-- would you guys still recommend the ripper shifter? Some have said that if you drive the car too much, it might get on your nerves. Any truth to that?
I've got a Ripper in my Z06 and it's my daily driver. The Ripper is stiffer than the stock shifter and does take some getting used to. I wouldn't go back though. If you find the Ripper a little too stiff for your liking you can either cut the springs down or use a taller shift **** (like the Hardbar ****) to reduce the effort required.
I really like the ripper shifter. It does take a little getting use to, but the short throws and positive shifts (especially 2nd to 3rd) are great ! The only minor complanit I have with it is a little rattling during hard accleration in 2nd gear. Not sure why. I have the stock ****, thinking about going to a momo. Any advice on how to reduce the rattling ?
i have had them both, the Kirban and the Ripper. The ripper was OK, but the Kirban is more comfortable and still plenty solid. My car is a daily driver.

It's a pretty stiff shifter, I think it might bother you if you drive it everyday. I was banging through gears all day at the track and man is my wrist sore. :nonod:
Had the time of my life though, what an awesome (and tough) vette!!
I had a ripper in my previous C5 convertible and I have to say, the reduced shift was great but the effort involved did get pretty wearing after a while. I would get a sore wrist after a while from the effort and the 'shunt' effect of pushing the lever into gear.
It was recommended to me that I change the transmission oil to Red Line MTL as this supposedly makes the shifter easier to live. I changed to my Z06 before I had a chance to find out.
I loved the feel of the solid shift with the Ripper, but boy did I get sore sometimes. It almost needs some slight 'give' when you slot it into gear.
I may try the Kirban or Hurst for the current car.
it may be just me, but the Ripper shifts easily for me now. When I first installed it, I felt that Arnold may get some competition. Way stiff at first, and most likely nearly impossible for a female to shift. After a while, things just got easier. Now the Ripper shifts like cutting through butta...
