Anyone have any tips/tricks for getting the plug wires to come off, Ive ran into this before on other cars, but with the metal sheilds around them I cant get to the boots to split them, I dont mind cutting the boots Ill replace the wires with a better set anyway, any thoughts on what are the best wires out there. Thanks
seems to me I remember a link to this subject that stated it was helpful to rotate the plug boot in the shroud to break the seal and ease removal. I'll see if I can find that link.
Did mine and really enjoyed working on the car. Here are two links that some great members provided excellent information that may the job much easier thanks so much to the other members that provided the information!
It's a pain but you got to grab the boot and twist and it will come off. Regarding the dredded #7 someone suggested removing the plug coil assemply. It came off real easy and made all the difference in the world. Also when putting new plugs in I used scrink tubing on the plug. It was stiff enough to allow placement of the plug and threading into place without cross threading and then easy enough to pull off.
Best to all.

There is an excellent video on youtube about this. Type in "96 Corvette spark plug wire removal youtube" and it will come up. Very good photography and narration, saved me A BUNCH of time with the little "tricks" this person knows.
