I have read all of the posts regarding needing an extra cable (GM4) if I don't have the cd changer in the trunk, which I don't. My question is regarding the cables run to the passenger footwell. Can these be used? If so, then what cable do you plug into them?? Seems easier then pulling the dash apart....

I just did this install last week...piece of cake install
My wife got an IPod for Christmas, and I'd like to do this install as well. I do have a CD changer and I know that makes a difference.
My question is in regards to sound quality. Is the sound quality as good as the changer? I got a docking station for her that hooks the IPod to our home system, and it doesn't seem to have the quality of CD's.

I have noticed it varies depending on song. Some sound great and some sound not so great. Not sure why. Some just seem to record, convert to ipod format better.... Luckily most sound pretty good.......

When you go to unplug your changer, remember to PINCH the plug & pull down. Knowing to pinch the plug would have saved me about 20 mins. of PO'edness. (Isimple) You'll have to go to there web site to get the code for the adaptor (info in box, free) plug into harness, done. Sound is = to changer, I have 12K songs on my pod all from my CDs, old CDs tend to be lower in playback volume, newer ones sound better, so it all depends on your original source. JOE P.S. spend the $$$ for a BOSE home system, you WILL NOT be disappointed.
