Can this be fixed, I hit a major pot hole at 85MPH and put a bend in the lip of the rim-- these r a 2 piece wheel , Is it cheaper to just replace the outter if they even do that?? Can They be straightened at all---The ride is ok as far as I can tell , no wheel shake or anything

The local guy down here charges about $135 per wheel for that type of repair. If it is scratched it cost more.
down where, guess I need to send him the wheel ---thats no good--but hey its better than 800 for a wheel, shoot me some info and Thanx in advance to all
Ronal can replace just the barrel, but you need to call them.
HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK THAT WOULD SAVE ME COMPARED TO A NEW WHEEL---IM PISSED, 1ST TRIP WITH CAR ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY--RT80 AND THIS HAPPENS---WHY SPEND MONEY ON GOOD THINGS WHEN THEY JUST GET RUINED BY THESE NJ ROADS
Sorry to hear about your rim. I bent three outer rims on my HRE's on front of my vette. It didn't take much of a hit to bend them. Unless you took one heck of a hit the same thing is probably going to happen to you again.
I solved the problem by changing to a wider profile tire and haven't had the problem since.
The companys that repair rims have to heat them and don't gaurentee the work. I chose to have the outer ring replaced instead of taking a chance on a repair or replacing the entire wheel.

Even if it costs you $500, you're still money ahead. You might also consider checking with your insurance company and see if they can help you....they might consider it a collision claim, and then you'd only pay your deductible. I would not tell them that you were exceeding the speed limit - in your first post you stated you were doing 85mph.
Also - please use a smaller font.....it feels like you're yelling. Take a deep breath, calm down and do some research on what it will take to fix the problem. I know you're upset, and I would be too. But panic never solves the problem.

I had one of my Mallett rims (long out of production) bent this last summer. I had it straightened for $100 at a small shop in Indianapolis (70 miles). They did a great job. Check around, you may find someone locally that can do it for much less than a new rim. Check with Ronal, they may have someone who can do it.
I know of this one car sitting in Omaha NE that has the same wheel I could help you steal

Hey, I bet you never thought of this and I didn't see where anyone posted this great advice yet, so here goes!!...
Call Ronal, get a quote on a new wheel (Just the half you need) and get a complete wheel quote. Use that information to help you decide if fixing the original is worth the expense or not. Also check with your insurance company and see what they may do for you.
Use that information to make a well informed decision!!
By the way, drive around those potholes when you can to avoid this happening again... and slow down!!!
I'm joking about the advice no one else has given yet...
