Default Lloyds Cargo mats

Anyone put a coupe mat in a Z06 or FRC? I know the storage areas don't have the lids to support the mat at the rear, but thought it might be ok and help deaden a little noise at the same time by covering the compartments. The Z06 mat does not cover the compartments, right? Has anyone already tried this and liked it?

The floor mat from Southern car parts does cover the 3 compartment openings. They also sell thin lids for the compartments, though that could be a DYI. I have their mat and along with a cabin partition it cut down significantly on road/tire noise from the rear.

I used a modified coupe template for my custom Commemorative mats that I had made. The mat covers the entire rear compartment area. I really like the look....combined with a rear partition, it really cut down on the road noise.

I don't have a partition, so this does not look like it will cover the whole trunk area.

Modified how? By them or DIY? I want to cover the whole tronk area including the compartments. I can pull the mat up if I want to put something in them. Thanks for the replies!! This looks like what I may be looking for!

They did it...I do as you say...simply pull up the rear of the mat to place stuff in the storage compartments...after that, everything is out of sight.

I went thru the same thing you're struggling with now...there are a bunch of different styles out there. The Z06 styles have the cutouts around the rear compartments. The coupe styles have the most "coverage" but have holes for the roof latches. Others don't cover the rear entirely, etc.

In the end, I worked with Rich Van't Hof (formerly of CARMotorsports...a forum vendor) to get the template just right so that it covered the entire rear compartment area. It gives a nice flush, finished look when the trunk is open. Rich can stitch just about any pattern on it. It is very high quality full embroidered logo (not a heat pressed patch like on some others). As you can see, I was finally able to get him to make up a Commemorative Edition one...it took a while to get the fine detail of the white lettering just right.

Rich will help you out with these things...tell him the folks at www.Z16.org sent you. Rich has done the floor mats & cargo mats for a bunch of us there. We have all been very happy.

Good luck,

Tom
