Default lowering my 97 ??

i have seen some cheap lowering bolts here on this forum (under $30) and was wondering whats the pros and cons of lowering. i like the way it looks but performance handeling how it makes a difference plus whould i still be able to open the doors next to a curb? and i was wondering if theres a possibility of tire rubbing against the inner wheel wells of the car

If you have the stock tires, they will not rub. Even with 18's or 19's they will not rub either. I have lowered mine on the stock bolts in the front and rear with no problems. I have found that the ride is ruffer than before and there is more scraping than before. I did replace the shocks with Bilsteins and the ride is so much smoother than with the stock shocks. It is a world of difference, even my girlfriend noticed. I have also noticed that I don't scrape in alot of the places I used to like backing out of my driveway. I hope this helps.

I would say about 1/2 of the backing out of my driveway is one big SCRAPE!

I just go super slow and turn the wheel ASAP

It is not the most 'commonsensical' thing I have ever done to my car, but it sure LOOKS cool...or as another member said: "menacing"

I lowered the rear on my 97 by just cutting the stock bushings in half. and it was plenty for me. I also upgraded the bolts to some heavy duty zinc plated bolts i picked up at ace hardware for abut $6.

As for the front, my front end scrapes on everything as it is so i def. will never lower it.

don't waste your money on those lowering kits!
